ABOUT THE AUTHOR

    Lady Cecily is a 13th century English merchant with the business Black Swan Thieves Market and Fiber Arts.  She has been making period hats since her first event in Atlantia in 1993.  She also enjoys weaving, dyeing, needlepoint, cordial making, Middle Eastern dance, book-making, chronicling and garb making.  She has taught classes in hat-making, needlepoint, Assisi work, tassel making, natural dyeing, Middle Eastern dance, tokens and favors.
   Gail D. Gray is a writer and photographer with over 20 years experience in publishing.  She is a photojournalist for the Greenville News, columnist and arts editor for Edge Magazine.  Her articles have been published in over 50 local and national magazines.  She is also editor of The Duct Tape Diaries, a SCA themed magazine and author of the books; “A Dyer’s Journal” and “So You Want To Be A Merchant.”
